The Corinthian church had a lot of problems! Yet despite all this, Paul still considered them a church. Why? Because they possessed the Spirit of God, who was evidently among them by various manifestations. It is the presence of the Spirit of God that makes one a true church, but it is the character of Christ that makes one a mature church. The Corinthians had the Spirit but not the character, and so their witness was tainted. Join us as we journey through the first letter to the Corinthians to discover areas of immaturity in us so that we may grow into maturity in Christ!
